I went from diet to diet and punished my body and myself anytime I "cheated" or waivered from someone else's structure of how I was supposed to be living and eating, sending me into shame spirals over and over again. My relationship with food and my body were not determined by me but society and the expectations that women are beaten over the head with from a very early age.
